Having a BF/GF abroad...

is challenging to say the least. Not only do you miss them, but schedules are off, people get busy, things can get stressful.

Sadly, this is my last picture of my girlfriend:
stupid, cheap memory card

I think her "last picture" turned out better:

<3

I'm terrified of...

So Hong Kong is taking some getting used to, so here are all the hits so far...

It is not only hot, but super humid...
here my lens fogged up when I walked outside

Everything is tall...
pretty self explanatory, no space = build up

Jackie Chan is a big deal...
this was not the first time I saw his face plasters on some random product or sign. Here he is advocating a hair darkening shampoo

McDonald's = Success...
Fanta with ice cream for under $2 US? Ballin! (btw that is Selena and Vince, UCLA!)

Ong in Hong Kong: Day 1

Although technically I'm three days deep into my stay at Hong Kong University, this post is about the first day there, which was one of the longest days I've had in a long time, but to keep it short the day's activities included:

13 hour plan flight
getting into HK at 5:30AM and it being 83 degrees F
getting to my dorm, unpacking, then being asked to move rooms
real Chinese food that makes my insides feel funny
seeing the campus for the first time
awkwardly meeting other foreigners
drinking at Lan Kwai Fong and running into Sarah & Brian (EE!)
running into a door
talking to Jen until almost 6
...

Really it was a day that felt like forever, but it was a great way to start off the trip.

Bbelow are some of the only pictures I took that day, none are in Hong Kong, sorry.

Jen packed these throughout my bags...

lolz.
